I found this very interesting. I did because it shows how much the Mexicans believe in their gods. They traveled for 200 years, which I’m sure was filled with doubt but they still didn’t give up. I also thought that it was interesting that they thought human sacrifice was necessary to please their gods. If it were in America I don’t believe that they would allow that in present time. Plus I don’t blame the people when they shewed the Aztecs away because they wouldn’t want their people to be sacrificed.
I found it very interesting that the Aztecs found an Eagle on a cactus, with a snake in it’s mouth was so important to the Aztecs because their main god promised them a city to themselves but to find it they have to find an eagle on a cactus, with a snake in it’s mouth. For the next 200 years the Aztecs searched the Valley of Mexico, and they never doubted their god. Then they named the island of Tenochtitlan, “the place of the prickly pear cactus”.
I have always wondered why the Aztecs thought this was a message from god. Maybe because it was weird. They are so religios it is weird and not even funny. They thought that the spainish were gods, not invaders.
